He has provided services to various television networks and production companies including, Reuters, Fox, ABC, CBS, NBC,ITN,Disney Channel, Sundance Channel, Sony Pictures, AXN Japan,TV Asahi Japan, RAI Italy, and many others.
Ricardo considers himself a craftsman who has been able to surpass the limits of each artistic visual tool, whether used to capture moving images or still. Each of these tools allows him to express his creative vision as the need arises, yet they are all complementary and helped him to grow in his craft.
From early childhood he was exposed to the world of film and cinematography because his father was a director making commercials in his native country of Chile. Ricardo’s desire to explore the human spirit through a lens was sparked by the famous photograph from 1963 of the Buddhist monk in Saigon who immolated as an act of protest against the government of Ngo Dinh Diem.
